Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 22, 2026
Scoreboard ("the app") is a weekly fitness league you play with friends using
data from Apple Health. This policy explains exactly what the app reads, what it
stores, who can see it, and how to delete it.
What we read from Apple Health
With your permission, Scoreboard reads the following from Apple Health
(HealthKit), read-only — the app never writes to Apple Health:
- Workouts and walking/running distance
- Exercise minutes
- Step count
- Active energy burned
- Sleep analysis
Health data is used for one purpose: computing your weekly totals
for the current week (running distance, workout minutes, steps, active energy,
and a sleep score from 0–100). It is never used for advertising, never sold, and
never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
What we store
When you sign in and use the app, the following is stored in our database
(Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore):
- Account: your display name (from Sign in with Apple, editable)
and an anonymous account identifier. We do not store your email address.
- Weekly totals: one record per week — running distance, workout
minutes, steps, active energy, sleep score (0–100), and how many nights of
sleep data contributed. Raw samples never leave your device: no workout
details, no routes, no locations, no timestamps, no bed times, no sleep
stages.
- Groups: the groups you belong to (name, members, invite
code).
- Anonymous tier counts: to show "top ~X%" tiers, the app adds
+1 to a coarse weekly histogram bucket (for example "ran 15–30 km"). These
counters contain no identifiers of any kind and cannot be traced back to
you.
Who can see what
- Your groupmates see your display name and your weekly totals
for the metrics you compete in.
- The sleep score is a computed 0–100 number. When you slept,
how long you were in bed, and your sleep stages are computed on your device
and are never uploaded.
- Per-metric opt-out: you can sit out any metric in Profile.
Your numbers for that metric are removed from what groupmates see.
- There are no public profiles, feeds, or search. Only people in your private
groups see anything about you.
Third parties
- Google Firebase (authentication, database, app integrity):

- Sentry (crash reporting, production builds only): receives
crash and error reports. Crash reports never include health data, and
personally identifying information is not attached.
- No analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, no data brokers.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account
in the app (Profile → Delete Account), which removes your account record, all
your weekly totals, and your group memberships, and revokes your Sign in with
Apple token. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Children
Scoreboard is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect
data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated and
the change will be noted in the app's release notes.
